Lucknow: Burlington Crossing renamed after VHP leader Ashok Singhal

Burlington Crossing, one of the prominent crossings in the city, has been renamed after late Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Ashok Singhal.
Lucknow Municipal Corporation on Monday renamed the road at a function organized on the eve of Singhal's birth anniversary. Amid slogans of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' by BJP and VHP workers, mayor Sanyukta Bhatia and VHP vice-president Champat Rai unveiled a stone with Ashok Singhal's name engraved on it. Rai said Singhalji used to stay at 'Bhargava Niwas' at Burlington Crossing whenever he would visit the city.
