Indian Road Congress to be held in Lucknow from October 8 to 11

The four-day-long 81st annual convention of the Indian Road Congress (IRC) will be held at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow from October 8 to 11. The last such event was held in Lucknow in 1985, which was the golden jubilee session of the IRC.
The IRC, a premier body in the infrastructure sector, will discuss the introduction of new technology and the maintenance of roads. Experts from road sectors from different institutions in India and abroad will present their papers on the new and low-cost technologies and other issues related to this sector.
UP Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra on Friday reviewed the preparations being made for the IRC. He said the IRC was an important event for Uttar Pradesh and it was “our collective responsibility” to make the event a big success. He directed the officers of the Public Works Department to ensure that all works related to IRC were completed before October 8.
