Meeting held at CM residence to discuss eight seats of Legislative Council, both Deputy CMs attended

The BJP Core Committee meeting was held at the Chief Minister's residence to discuss the candidates for the eight seats of the UP Legislative Council. In which both the Deputy Chief Ministers including Chief Minister Yogi and the State General Secretary of the BJP, including big officials were present. By-elections are to be held on two seats of the Legislative Council and nominations for six seats.
The candidates for a total of eight seats of the Legislative Council were discussed in the meeting. Out of these eight seats, by-elections will be held on two, while candidates will be nominated for six seats.
Earlier on Wednesday, BJP state president Swatantra Dev Singh resigned from his post. Soon the new state president of the party will be announced.
Swatantra Dev's term ended on July 16. However, he will continue to perform all the functions of the presidency till the new chairman is announced.
