3rd PGI Research Day: 220 research papers submitted, 22 to be awarded in Lucknow
By: admin | Dec. 13, 2022, 11:07 a.m.The Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow, will celebrate its 3rd Research Day on Tuesday. The day began being marked in 2020 by the present director Professor RK Dhiman.
Professor Uday C Ghoshal, the faculty in charge, research, SGPGIMS said, “Research is one of the three most important pillars of SGPGIMS. Research helps in bringing quality healthcare to patients adapted as per local needs at an affordable cost,” adding that research also helps in innovation and application to fulfill the vision of the nation to make things in India.
He said, “This year around 220 papers (140 students and 80 faculty members) have been submitted for presentation. Twelve awards in the faculty members category and 10 in the student category will be given on the 39th Foundation Day of the institute on Wednesday based on the presented research works. The Research Cell will also acknowledge the success of faculty members of SGPGIMS, who have been included within 2% of the world's top scientists according to the survey from Stanford University, USA.”
Dr. CP Chaturvedi, the assistant faculty in charge of research said that to promote research amongst faculty members and students, the 3rd Research Day will help in knowledge sharing.
Director, Prof R K Dhiman, who initiated this tradition of celebrating Research Day at SGPGIMS in 2020, expressed happiness. He said, “The celebrations of research work have increased the awareness and enthusiasm among researchers as the number of poster presentations has significantly increased in comparison to previous years. This has also increased the intramural and extramural grant in SGPGIMS.”
Senior faculty members from other Institutes such as KGMU, RML CDRI, and IITR will evaluate the posters.
