UP: Assembly session dedicated to women members will set an example, says CM Yogi Adityanath

Setting the tone for the special session of the UP assembly dedicated to women members, chief minister Yogi Adityanath said that the proceedings would be documented and sent to all the state assemblies in the country as 'history is being created in the state'.
Advocating that a member representing half the population be given a chance to conduct the proceedings as presiding officer, even for a short time, he said this would help create the right atmosphere. The CM said that despite having given women the right to vote and being ahead of many developed countries including Britain in guaranteeing women’s rights, India, the largest democracy in the world, has not progressed according to expectations on this front.
