Anne Warner
Anne Marie was born in Lucknow, Uttar-Pradesh, India 1945. Anne hails of Anglo-Indian descent; she has been a social welfare union organizer before entering politics.
She has been a former Australian politician who has served in the Queensland Legislative Assembly from 1983 to 1995. She was a government minister under Wayne Goss from 1989 to 1995.
Early Life
Anne Warner tells her early childhood, she was born in India (1945) of mixed Indian and British parentage. At a young age, her family moved to England, partly because her father was ill, later her father died when she was six and her mother remained a single parent.
Political Brief
Warner was elected independently to the Legislative Assembly of Queensland for Kurilpa in the early 80s (1983) & thus for South Brisbane in 1986. Anne has been the voted Minister for Family Services & Minister for Aboriginal and Islander Affairs in the Labor Party government of Wayne Goss from 1989 until her retirement in 1995.
During her six years in the opposition, Anne has spoken vociferously, on several common issues including civil rights, education, government maladministration, corruption control, child welfare, and so on.
